I suppose I should get around to seeing the first one. www.maxim.com/entertain…
I wanted to jump out of my chair and pump my fist in the air when Weird Al unloads about irony and the use of “literally”. But I’m in the waiting area while my wife’s minivan gets serviced, so I didn’t. youtu.be/8Gv0H-vPo…

I wish we’d had this for the Predator episode of the Big Fat Geek Podcast. twitter.com/GregLongs…
When our oldest was 5 or so, he had tae kwan do classes with Cristian Driver. We had the occasion to chat with Donald and Betina a few times as a result, and I can tell you they are some of the nicest people you’ll meet. www.crosstimbersgazette.com/2018/05/0…
On the Big Fat Geek Podcast, it’s part 2 of our coverage of Avengers: Infinity War. You can leave your own thoughts via voice or text for our feedback episode: 832-930-3283 www.bigfatgeekpodcast.com/2018/05/1…
On the latest episode of the Empowered Parent Podcast, it’s Round 4 of Give Me an Example! empoweredparent.podbean.com/mobile/e/…
I really don’t like when book adaptations to TV make massive character and plot changes for no discernible reaons. It’s TV. You literally have hours upon hours to tell the story.
I’ll probably still give The Passage a chance, since I’m a huge fan of Justin Cronin’s trilogy, but the plotline with Wolgast and Amy is already annoying. www.youtube.com/watch

James Harrison’s blood has unique antibodies that fight rhesus disease. He began donating blood after getting transfusions himself during surgery. He donated blood every week for 60 years and doctors in Australia estimate he’s saved the lives of 2.4M babies. www.cnn.com/2018/05/1…

With much hard work from Dallas, who proved more adept at graphic design than Nathan or myself, we have a new logo for the Big Fat Geek Podcast! Expect stickers in the near future.

On the left, Mothers Day last year. The hockey player is on skates.
On the right, today, again, he’s on skates.

Trail Break
Today was our Cub Scout pack’s end-of-school-year bridging ceremony. My two guys bridged from Lion to Tiger and Bear to Webelos. It also marked the last time I’ll wear this uniform shirt.
We’re transferring to another pack, relevant to the move of house and schools we made last year. This way our guys will be with friends from school and the neighborhood. I’m also taking a break from leadership.
Six years as Cubmaster, and it’s been a good run. A few bumps, as you’d expect on life’s road, but I have been blessed with great parents, and great kids, people you enjoy spending time with. My thanks to the parents who volunteered over the years. You made my job a lot easier. Thank you for the recognition, that was very sweet.
Now to the next stop on the trail…
We are seriously our own worst enemies. youtu.be/vjSohj-Ic…

We’re talking Avengers: Infinity War on the latest Big Fat Geek Podcast! Spoilers abound! A conversation so great, we had to break it into two episodes! www.bigfatgeekpodcast.com/2018/05/1…
John is on to something here. I’m currently reversed: I’ve relatively removed Google from my online life, but I’m still engaged on Facebook, mostly due to a couple of groups I believe are helping people and thus important. twitter.com/johndyer/…
Bye, Instagram (kinda)
Thanks to Instagram offering users downloads of data, and the work @manton put in to build an importer, all of my Instagram photos are now on my Micro.blog.
I’ll keep my Instagram account so I can interact with friends there, but I won’t be posting there any longer. #ownyourcontent #controlyourcontent
I consider it a grand triumph of parenting that my children are all aware of Episodes I-III of the Star Wars films, yet never, ever ask for them to be played.
