A goal, an assist, two other shots on goal, lots of grinding it out on shifts = team hard hat award. Proud of this kiddo and his efforts today.

If it’s not becoming obvious, I also like owls. In one of those alternative-career fantasies, I’d love to work with owls in some capacity. Magnificent birds of prey.

Portrait of a Royal Bengal tiger by anekphoto on Flickr.
Given my love of tigers began well before attending the local university which used the big cat as its mascot, I’m always on the lookout for great photos of the beast.
A fondness for power is implanted, in most men, and it is natural to abuse it, when acquired.

Vought A-7 Corsair II on Flickr.
The A-7 was based on Vought’s successful supersonic fighter, the F-8 Crusader. It’s airframe was shorter and lighter than the Crusader’s. The Corsair II replaced the A-4 Skyhawk in the US Navy’s inventory, as well as a variety of other aircraft in the Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard.
My dad worked on A-7s aboard the USS Kennedy as an avionics technician.
I was shushed from the other room. Again.
